Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how Enacti Ventures Private Limited ("Company," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, stores, and protects information when you use the Altimeter application ("App").

By using the App, you consent to the data practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with these practices, please uninstall the App and discontinue use.

We reserve the right to update this Privacy Policy at any time. Changes become effective immediately upon being made available within the App or on our website. Your continued use of the App constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

Information We Collect

The App accesses the following device capabilities and data, all of which are processed locally on your device unless otherwise specified:

• Name, email address, phone number, or any personal identification
• Photos taken through the binoculars feature (never uploaded)
• Marked locations and saved places (stored on-device only)
• Health data from Apple HealthKit (not integrated)
• Contacts, calendar, microphone audio, or browsing history
• Payment information (handled entirely by Apple)

How We Use Your Information

The limited data we access is used solely for:

• Core Functionality: Providing altitude, compass, weather, activity tracking, elevation profiling, map, and binoculars features
• Weather Forecasts: Sending your location coordinates to OpenWeather API to retrieve local weather data
• Advertising: Displaying ads to free users via Google AdMob (with your consent under ATT)
• Purchase Verification: Validating subscription status through Apple StoreKit
• Local Notifications: Sending on-device notifications for step goals, streak alerts, and weekly summaries
• Background Activity Updates: The App may periodically access your pedometer data in the background to update step counts, check goal progress, and trigger local notifications. This processing occurs entirely on your device and no data is transmitted to external servers.
• SOS Feature: When you use the SOS function, your current GPS coordinates are included in an email composed on your device. This email is sent only when you explicitly choose to send it, and the recipients are entirely under your control.

We do not use your data for profiling, behavioral tracking, targeted marketing, or any purpose beyond the direct functionality of the App.

Data Storage & Retention

On-Device Storage: All user preferences, activity history, elevation sessions, marked location data, and settings are stored locally on your device using:

• UserDefaults (via App Group container) — settings, preferences, purchase flags
• SQLite database — daily activity records (steps, distance, floors, calories)
• File system — elevation session recordings

Data Retention: All locally stored data persists until you delete the App. Uninstalling the App permanently removes all on-device data. We do not maintain server-side copies of your data.

Weather Cache: Weather forecast data is cached locally for offline access and automatically refreshed on subsequent requests. Cached data is not transmitted elsewhere.

Advertising & App Tracking Transparency

The App uses Google AdMob to display interstitial advertisements to free (non-Pro) users.

App Tracking Transparency (ATT): On iOS 14 and later, we request your permission via Apple's ATT framework before accessing the device's advertising identifier (IDFA). You may:

• Allow Tracking: AdMob may use your IDFA to serve personalized ads
• Deny Tracking: AdMob will serve non-personalized, contextual ads only

You can change your ATT preference at any time in Settings > Privacy > Tracking on your iOS device.

Pro Users: Altimeter Pro subscribers and lifetime purchasers are exempt from all advertising. No ads are shown, no IDFA is accessed, and no ad-related data is collected.

Subscriptions & Payments

All subscription and purchase transactions are processed exclusively through Apple's App Store using StoreKit 2. We do not collect, store, process, or have access to:

• Credit card numbers or payment method details
• Apple ID credentials
• Billing addresses

We receive only a purchase confirmation (product identifier and transaction status) from Apple to activate your Pro features. Subscription management, billing, refunds, and cancellations are handled by Apple.

Third-Party Services

The App integrates with the following third-party services, each governed by their own privacy policies:

Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age of digital consent in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at support@enacti.com and we will take steps to delete such information promptly.

Data Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including:

• All data stored on-device using iOS sandboxing and encryption at rest
• Network requests to weather APIs use HTTPS (TLS 1.2+)
• No server-side storage of personal or sensor data
• App Group data accessible only to the App and its extensions

However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your data and are not liable for any unauthorized access resulting from circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights regarding your data:

• Access: Request information about what data we process (note: we process minimal data, all on-device)
• Deletion: Delete all App data by uninstalling the App from your device
• Opt-Out of Tracking: Deny ATT permission or change it in iOS Settings
• Opt-Out of Ads: Subscribe to Altimeter Pro to remove all advertisements
• Data Portability: Export elevation session data via the App's share/export feature
• Withdraw Consent: Revoke location, motion, or camera permissions at any time in iOS Settings

Since we do not collect personal data on our servers, most data subject requests can be fulfilled by managing your device settings or uninstalling the App.

International Data Transfers

Weather forecast requests may be sent to servers located outside your country of residence (OpenWeather operates servers in the EU and US). These requests contain only geographic coordinates and no other personally identifiable information. For information about how long third-party services retain data they receive, please refer to their respective privacy policies linked in Section 7.

Ad requests via Google AdMob may be processed on Google's global infrastructure. Google's data processing practices are governed by their privacy policy and applicable data processing agreements.

All permissions can be managed at any time in your device's Settings > Altimeter.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, legal requirements, or App functionality. When we make material changes:

• The "Effective Date" at the top of this policy will be updated
• The updated policy will be made available within the App and on our website

Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.

Governing Law

This Privacy Policy shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India, including the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, as applicable.

For users in the European Economic Area (EEA), we process data in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) where applicable. Our legal basis for processing is legitimate interest (providing App functionality) and consent (for advertising tracking).

For users in California, USA, this policy serves as our disclosure under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). We do not sell personal information as defined by the CCPA.
